It is with great pleasure that OUR Recordings today will release a single with J.S. Bach’s iconic Sarabande from Cello Suite No. 1 featuring the Danish cello virtuoso Henrik Dam Thomsen. Henrik has been working with Bach’s cello suites since he was a child, and this recording is a very personal and powerful rendition that builds both on the common tradition and perception of these masterpieces, as well as a deep knowledge of historical performance practice (HIP).

Below is a beautiful preview/teaser of a video that has been produced for Bach’s Suite No. 2 in D Minor by cinematographer Peter Mark in Grundtvig's Church in Copenhagen.

The entire album will be released internationally on

Friday, August 23th.

On August 28th there will be a reception at the old Posthus Theatre in Copenhagen from 4 to 6 PM, where Peter Mark's entire art film will be shown to an invited audience. Later, the film will be available on various TV stations.

On September 1st at 2:00 PM, there will be an opportunity to hear Henrik Dam Thomsen play Suite No. 1 in G Major and Suite No. 6 in D Major at a concert in Garnisonskirken in Copenhagen, where the recordings took place with Mikkel Nymand as producer.
