Antti Salovaara
Bassoon
Antti Salovaara is a Finnish bassoonist, educated at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, where he studied under Jaakko Luoma. Salovaara also studied at the Conservatoire de Paris with Laurent Lefèvre and later at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover with Bence Bogányi, from which he graduated in 2018.
Antti Salovaara has been a member of the Esbjerg Ensemble since 2017 and also plays in Tölöläb, an electro-acoustic experimental woodwind group based in Helsinki. Salovaara is deeply committed to chamber music and regularly collaborates with composers to expand the solo and chamber repertoire for the bassoon. His contributions to chamber music are characterized by a passion for improvisation.
